About
Safer Places - Specialist Women’s Refuge
Safer Places is Druglink’s specialist refuge for women who have experienced domestic abuse and are also facing challenges related to problematic drug or alcohol use.
We provide 8 dedicated refuge beds within a safe, trauma-informed environment. These spaces were created to address a significant gap in provision: women with current or historic drug and alcohol dependency are often unable to access general refuge services, which are not equipped to manage complex, co-occurring needs.
North Herts Multiple Disadvantage Service
This is a preventative service, for women aged 18 and over, who are either homeless or facing homelessness, who also experience multiple disadvantage.
A two-year pilot jointly funded by Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) and North Herts Council (NHC), we provide a gender informed, trauma informed and strengths-based care model, with the principles of Making Every Adult Matter (MEAM) fully embedded.
This is not a refuge, but many women will have support needs relating to historic domestic abuse.
Referrals are made through North Herts Housing Team.
