The Government’s Alcohol Harm Strategy highlights the need to educate and deliver services to the wider public, not just those directly affected by substance misuse, thereby reducing the incidence of alcohol and drug related harm.Drawing on our expertise and experience we have developed services for businesses which will reduce the impact of substance misuse in the work place. These services address the challenges faced by businesses in handling common work place problems relating to substance misuse, and meets the needs of employers with regard to productivity. We offer a variety of training packages to empower both managers and team leaders to recognise an employee with a potential drug or alcohol problem. We train them in skills on how to approach or challenge the employee who is perceived to have a problem.
The training can include : General drug and alcohol misuse awareness An overview of different drugs, their street names and their effects. Signs to look out for in suspected substance misuse Advise on the first interview with an employee Offer avenues of help and advice to the employee, their work colleagues and their families Consult with businesses with the aim of strengthening their employment policies and procedures on substance misuse matters Skills in approaching suspected employees Preparation of relevant sections of a company's Policies and Procedures
